Co-ordination between Tacis CBC and Interreg -project

Technology Centre Neopoli Oy, Lahti, Finland and the St. Petersburg ”Shuvalovskij Park- Science and Technology Business Corporation” are the core partners of the Interreg III A- project and additional partners of the Tacis CBC -project. Both projects have separate plans and budgets, but the parallel project makes possible the more efficient results both on the EU-side and the NIS-side. NIS-side partners are members of the Steering committee of the Interreg III A -project. Parallel project implementation is possible because of co-operation in the project planning and long term partnership and information exchange, which have developed smoothly and progressively.

Project summary:

The overall objective of the project is to develop technology centres co-operation between St. Petersburg and Päijät-Häme region (South Carelia –region as an additional partner area). Know-how in technology transfer methods and innovation activity will be exploited, openings for international contacts of enterprises will be established and expertise in Russian affairs will be strengthened among Finnish organisations.

The environmental know-how and environmental technologies of  the project partners and participants will improve while opportunities for possible common environmental projects in the Baltic Sea  area will be identified. The planning of environmentally-friendly products from St. Petersburg will be supported by the experiences of the Centre of Expertise Programme for the Lahti Region, concentrating on the fields of design, quality and ecology. A model will be devised for turning innovations into products and gearing them towards the market. Networks will be set up between educational bodies, research centres and enterprises to improve environmental know-how and turn it into commercial activity. With the aid of new methods of entrepreneurship, the results of research and the transfer of new technologies will be adapted to working life.
