Project description

The project general aim is to establish NORD-BALT-YOUTH-ART Network for organizing complex events including representatives of youth-musical and cultural life from Baltic, Scandinavian & North-West Russia and make it as long-term systematical activity & stabile transitory event among several years for maintain joint platform for development complex cooperation in the youth social-cultural sphere on the basis of cross-cultural interaction between governmental, business and non-governmental organization of culture and art-therapy. The first step will be organization in summer time 2003 "Marathon" in Saint-Petersburg as a number of joint events (seminars and work-shops for cultural managers, NGOs and show-business organizations from North-West Russia, Baltic,
Scandinavia whose will take place during 7 days; during this week we planing to organize "Fairs of socio-cultural projects & ideas" and will call several donors organizations to make a joint presentation of their activities in Russia, Baltic & Scandinavia by 4 hours in afternoons; in the evenings and nights concert-programs of regions in the nights clubs of SPb (in general "Hollywood nights") with presenting talented young musicians in rock, pop-, rep- and other regional producer centers and institutions will be organized; Opening Ceremony with Joint Gala-concert of popular musicians from all territories and Closing Ceremony would be held. Participants should be selected on regions' festivals or competitions.
Presumed participating countries: Russia (North-West), Norway, Finland, Denmark, Sweden, Island, Latvia, Lithuenia, Estonia, Poland Intended length: 3 years (starting from July 2002, with prolongation perspective)

Central objectives
|
To create the conditions for long-term trans-national co-operation both in the Baltic & Barents arenas for the sustainable exchange programs and information, education through discussions, developing and supporting young talents through joint concerts, projects and master-classes, protection of the youth art, elaboration of new mechanisms for cross-sectoral dialogue and sustainable platform for prevention of social deviations in the youth miljo in regions (like drugs, alcogol, xenophobia etc ), involving and development of the collaboration between civil society organizations (especially for art-therapy) in these territories

Expected benefits
|
The establishment of long-term co-operation and networks between the participating regions, helping for integration through joint actions and sustainable activity (sross-sectoral: business, NGOs, governments).
The development of the sustainable youth cultural tourism and modern music experience and groups/ collectives exchange for supporting their creative potential and protection of their arts. Prevention of the social deviations in youth miljo and support for civil society organizations, working in cultural & youth politics spheres and in the art-therapy approaches. Permanent discussing of the main problems and tendencies of the cultural business and cultural social sectors interaction through workshops/seminars, training courses, presentations, etc.
