Project description
|
The project implies setting up a museum of Russian fairytale together with recreational zone on the lakeside and in picturesque forest area. This complex will be located in the Kirillov Rayon, within the territory of the national park "Russian North". The town of Kirillov is connected with Vologda, Cherepovets, Arkhangelsk and Leningrad Oblasts by good roads, in summertime freight and passenger vessels go by two water systems - Volgo-Balt and Sever-Dvinsky channel. Such a favourable geographic location together with wonderful recreational facilities create a perfect opportunity to attract lots of tourists, families being the major priority.
The main concept of the project consists in preserving Russian national traditions, folklore, culture intact, together with local architecture, flora and fauna. In the course of various excursions visitors will get acquainted with Russian folklore characters skillfully carved out of wood, get all the necessary information about natural and cultural exhibits and surroundings.
Additionally, much attention will be given to tourist infrastructure presented by hotels, cafes, sporting facilities, mini-market, parking lots and other services. The museum is supposed to work on an annual basis, with slight changes in services and exhibitions due to different weather conditions.

Developing regional tourist infrastructure by providing additional job opportunities, making the museum a unique tourist, recreational, cultural and educational centre, one of the most influential means of preserving and developing Russian cultural and historical heritage.

Expected benefits
|
The project results in improving tourist attractiveness of the planned museum, the national park "Russian North" and the whole Vologda Oblast, as a region with unique cultural traditions of the Russian North.
