|
The
North-West Agency of International Projects
corrdinated the international pilot project of the
European Training Foundation 'VET Reform in North-West
Russia' in the tourism and transport sectors in
1996-2002. The network of regional education and
employment authorities, training providers and
associations of entrepreneurs and employers of tourism
and transport sectors in the North-West Region of
Russia was developed and consolidated. The project
will link the established partnership (St. Petersburg,
Republic of Karelia, Leningrad, Novgorod, Pskov,
Kalinigrad regions) with the relevant networks in the
other BSR states. The project will provide the common
platform for the interested parties - employers,
training providers, authorities for the exchamge of
information and best practices to identify
qualification demands common to the tourism and
transport industries in the BSR states. Based on them
coherent approaches to the content of training will be
elaborated. The network will bring together the
efforts of all the parties interested in training
qualified specialists . Training materials regarding
and adapting the best EU practices will be developed.
Specialists will meet the qualification demands
relevant in the BSR states. It will contribute to the
improvement of services and promote better integrated
cross border transport and torism cooperation in the
BSR states.

objectives

Overall
objective:
to strengthen the capacity of tourism and transport
sectors in the BSR states and provide better
integrated services and cooperation.
Specific objectives: to establish partnerships of
tourism and transport companies, education and
employment authorities, education providers in the BSR
states; to identify the qualification demands for the
specialists common for the BSR states; to improve the
capacity of the institutions in the BSR states
involved in training; to adapt curriculum and training
materials based on common qualification demands ; to
implement training of specialists according to new
curriculum ; to provide better integrated services of
the tourism and transport sectors in the BSR states.

benefits
|

Expected
outcomes:
partnerships are established and interested parties in
the BSR states cooperate; better tourism products and
transport and logistic services are developed; common
qualification demands are identified; curriculum and
packages of training materials are adapted;
training of specialists according to the adapted
curriculum , adult training including, is implemented;
better integrated services of the tourism and
transport sectors in the BSR states are provided.
